As part of our commitment to transparency and scientific rigor, SESCARNIVORE produces comprehensive annual progress reports documenting research advances, methodological developments, and emerging findings in human-large carnivore coexistence. These reports provide stakeholders, funding agencies, and the broader scientific community with detailed insights into our ongoing work across conceptual framework development, participatory systems mapping, field research, and policy integration.

Year 1 Progress Report: Global Understanding & Local Research Preparation
The first annual report documents the completion of Stage 1 activities, including comprehensive literature synthesis (250+ scientific articles), development of the Wildlife-Society-Environment theoretical framework, preparation of pan-European expert survey, landscape assessment using remote sensing across 15 study areas, and establishment of camera trap monitoring infrastructure (50 units). Three review manuscripts were submitted to high-impact journals (Sustainability Science, Conservation Letters, Ecology and Society), advancing the social-ecological niche theory for human-carnivore coexistence. The report also covers communication activities, including the launch of the project website and media engagement on human-bear coexistence.
